CEO & Partner
Joe McClary is a partner and founder at MRP and primarily oversees the growth of the company while assisting with acquisitions, dispositions, and fund-raising. Mr. McClary has over 11 years of experience buying, selling, and operating real estate investments. Joe started his career in single tenant investment sales, which led to the creation of Midwest Retail Properties. He has overseen $200 Million worth of transactions in his career. Outside of the office, Joe is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and his true passion is his children.
President & Partner
Jordan Breck has been in the real estate investment business for over 6 years and is a partner at MRP. He is responsible for sourcing acquisitions, modeling investments, and oversees the company’s growth strategy. Jordan has been personally involved in over $150 Million worth of transactions. Jordan has been with the firm since graduating from Loyola University Chicago with a BBA in Finance.
Director of Leasing
John Cusumano serves as a Leasing Associate for Midwest Retail Properties handling the current and potential portfolio. Prior to MRP, John spent over a year with CBRE’s Retail Team working in Advisory & Transaction Services as an Associate on Landlord and Tenant Representation. John graduated from DePauw University in 2017 with a Degree in Communications.
Director of Marketing
Elaina started at MRP with a summer internship in May of 2018. After graduation in December of 2018, she was brought on as a leasing assistant. Within just a few months, Elaina proved that her skills would be best used in creating and developing the marketing department. Elaina is now the Director of Marketing at Midwest Retail Properties. She markets all of the company’s listings, both leasing and dispositions. She also handles their social media presence as well as their company branding & advertising efforts. She is originally from Illinois, but moved to St. Louis after beginning school at Webster University. She loves spending time outdoors with her husband Kaleb and hiking scenic trails in southern Illinois and Missouri.
Leasing Associate
Adrienne joined the MRP Team in November 2020 as a Leasing Associate. Before joining MRP, Adrienne spent 2 ½ years at Cushman & Wakefield negotiating lease renewals for Edward Jones’ offices throughout the United States and Canada. She graduated from Missouri State University with a BS in Marketing Management. In her free time, Adrienne enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Director of Real Estate
Mac oversees the acquisition and disposition of assets within MRP’s portfolio. He is involved in deal sourcing, tenant partnerships, and investor relations. Mac previously worked at Wells Fargo Advisors in their investment banking group and fixed income trading. He studied at the University of Virginia and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BS in Economics.
Transaction Coordinator
Miranda Brittin serves as Transaction Coordinator for Midwest Retail Properties handling transaction logistics and leasing databases. Ms. Brittin also handles all MRP’s investor relations. Prior to MRP, Miranda spent nine years in various management roles with The Home Depot and Sam’s Club, including Human Resources and Marketing. In her last year at Sam’s Club, her B2B sales totals for the St. Louis Metro East market were in the top ten of Sam’s Club B2B nationwide sales. Ms. Brittin received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from McKendree University. She has a three-year old son that she loves to spend her time with or you can find her fulfilling her passion for the outdoors by camping, kayaking, running, or biking.
Controller
Kyle graduated from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale earning his BS in Accounting, and then graduated from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville in earning his MS in Accounting. After graduating from SIUE, Kyle worked for a year as a client accountant at Cassidy Turley (now called Cushman Wakefield) in the client accounting department and performed full-cycle accounting duties for large construction and real estate clients. He then pursued a career in public accounting by getting a job at CliftonLarsonAllen and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He worked at CLA for almost four years before coming to Midwest Retail Properties in 2017. Kyle is originally from Belleville, IL, but now lives in St. Louis with his wife and two dogs.
Accounting Assistant
Amy worked at Cushman and Wakefield doing accounts payable for seven years before coming to Midwest Retail Properties in early 2018. Kyle Mertens, MRP’s Controller, emailed Amy about a position at MRP and was very grateful for the switch! At MRP, Amy handles all of the invoices for all the properties we have. Amy has learned a lot since coming to MRP, and she looks forward to learning more! Amy is from Illinois, but she spends a lot of time in Kentucky with her boyfriend Jim. She enjoys going to concerts and Cardinals baseball games with her daughter Emily.
Director of Asset Management
Samantha brings over a decade of Real Estate experience with an emphasis in Asset Management. Starting in 2008 she has been involved in asset management, property management, acquisitions, and development. She has cumulatively oversaw over $2 Billion in asset value totaling over 15 million square feet across the United States. In 2015, Samantha was nominated and awarded by the St. Louis Business Journal’s 30 Under 30 award. She is a member of The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and serves on the Customer Experience Advisory Board for Missouri State University. Outside of the office, Samantha spends most of her time with her Husband and son. She is passionate about health and fitness, the outdoors and enjoys listening to podcasts.
Lease Administrator
Zach joined the MRP team as a lease administrator in January of 2020. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. In his free time, he enjoys spending time traveling to hunt and fish with friends. Other hobbies that Zach enjoys are playing golf, watching basketball, and training with his dog Boomer.
Director of Property Management
Jen commenced her commercial real estate journey in 2005 with Sansone Group, a company based in Clayton, MO where she obtained several fields of knowledge as she held an active role in Accounting, Human Resources & Property Management. In 2014, Jen joined the MRP team as a Property Manager and over the course of her employment, has built a distinctive reputation for herself by providing attentive management and diverse problem-solving techniques within each property in her portfolio. Jen is now the Director of Property Management where she oversees MRP’s entire portfolio and brings personality & professionalism to all aspects of the company. While she finds joy in her everyday job, her truest blessings in life are her husband Shawn and 3 beautiful children, Landon, Jadyn and Morgan.
Property Management
Heather joined the MRP team in November 2018 and hit the ground running. She now oversees an extensive portfolio of commercial properties throughout the Midwest. She puts great importance on cultivating strong relationships with tenants and contractors. Heather takes great pride in the care and maintenance of each property in her portfolio. Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her husband John and their kids.
Property Management
Hope Alexander joined the MRP Team in November of 2020 as a Property Manager. Before joining MRP, Hope spent a year and a half at Priority Properties overseeing half of their retail and industrial portfolio. She studied at The University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing in May of 2019. Outside of the office, Hope enjoys playing tennis and spending time with friends and family.
VP of Construction
Tom Heintz is the MRP construction project manager. He focuses on all aspects of their construction needs, including: inspections, tenant buildout, and property improvements. Tom has over 25 years in the construction industry ranging from building a family’s first home to managing multi-million dollar private, state, and federal projects. He spends his free time enjoying the outdoors hunting and fishing with his two daughters whenever possible.
